Here she graduated with great distinction and received an award recognizing her as having the top academic standing in her physiology degree program. Dr. Velichka received her professional naturopathic medical training at the accredited Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, ON. This four-year naturopathic medical program included training in conventional medical care and diagnostics, pharmacology, drug-botanical and drug-nutrient interactions, physical examinations and naturopathic treatment modalities (Clinical nutrition, Chinese medicine/acupuncture, botanical medicine, hydrotherapy, physical medicine, and homeopathy). In addition to her 12-month clinical rotation in family medicine at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic in Toronto, she received specialized training working under naturopathic oncologists on the Adjunctive Cancer Care shift. She also completed a four-month term working at Anishnawbe Community Health Centre where she gained valuable experience addressing medical concerns of aboriginal people.
Dr. Velichka is originally from the Parkland region of Saskatchewan, returning to the province in 2011 to practice in Saskatoon. After building up a very busy naturopathic family medicine and adjunctive cancer care practice at her previous location on 8th Street, Dr. Velichka moved her practice to Saskatoon Naturopathic Medicine in Stonebridge to work in a larger facility that would meet the growing demands and needs of her patient population. She is excited for this new opportunity to work in an integrative healthcare environment.
Dr. Velichka enjoys working with patients in a comprehensive manner to help her patients achieve their individual health goals. She is trained to address health concerns of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. Dr. Velichka adopts a patient-centered approach empowering her patients with the tools to restore health and strengthen well-being.
Advancing her skills and knowledge as a clinician is a priority for Dr. Velichka. As such, she continues to receive mentorship from experts and participate regularly in continuing education seminars and conferences.
